Performance Skills for the Voice Actor –

Often wondered HOW to deliver a certain line? The written word is one thing but the spoken word is something else entirely!  Every voice over job has some degree of performance required. More often these days you are called upon to “self direct” so making the right verbal choices is more important than ever. In this workshop we’ll take a look at how to interpret the copy – and discuss style, intent, pacing, tone and delivery. We’ll examine the differences between radio and TV commercials, corporate narration, e-learning projects, explainer videos, audio books and more.

Join us for a 4 hour Saturday morning workout and we’ll help enhance your performance skills. Bring along any copy you may have struggled with that you would like to work on. Also, bring along a flash drive to take home copies of what we work on. This will be a fun and engaging workshop!

Hosted by Brian Page and Tim Keenan

Brian works in all areas of VO but spends much of his time voicing corporate narration, legal videos and e-learning projects. Brian’s performance experience isn’t limited to just behind the microphone. His resume also includes acting on stage for more than 21 years in nearly 70 productions. He’s also a well recognized stage director and has provided sound design for some 50 plus theatrical productions.
